The Aftermath
Why did I drink again, my friend? I ran from sorrows.
I knew they would let go, if only for an hour, my woes.
And just like in my childhood, I’ll take off, avoiding impact
with anything I’m afraid of, all of the undesirable contact.
I’ll take a note of the flock of birds in the pink sky,
I will scream in their stead that I also away will fly.
But someone might say: Monsignor, nothing is the same, it seems.
And everything that was before this day was in your dreams.
Wait just a short while until you get awakened by someone.
Don’t rush, don’t rush, what's to be, what is to be is what’s yet to come.

Dance
I hear the voice at night, I see the unearthly light
When she’s dancing with me under the flicker of candlelight.
But in that wondrous moment, she’s lost from my hold,
And shadows will shimmer and leave this world.
Soon under the slogan that life is a struggle,
And the path to the top - fate riddled with trouble,
The Earth will wipe us, like the dust from its face,
And will fly away to a distant place.
What will remain are: rivers, flowers, and fields,
Dolphins, caterpillars, cats, and eels,
I’d like to add also: the two of us,
But, I can’t, alas.
We are wandering in half-dark, midst winter-gripped world,
And the shadows whirl above us, like a wild tribe!
And I don’t want to know, I don’t want to know at all,
What, what time will do with you.
